How to Diet on Restricted Budget
While a hundred dollars may seem like a small budget to buy food especially if you want to diet, it’s not too shabby in our country with the large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables that are readily available.
Here are my suggestions and recommendations to make it work and help you stay on a healthy diet. Shop for 1-week and then only replace what you run out of in 2nd week – can feed a family of two or three.
10-lb bag potatoes
1-medium butter squash
1-3lb bag carrots
1-small cabbage
1-pt cherry tomatoes
1-English cucumber
1-pkg. 3- large chicken legs
1-can kidney beans
1-can chick peas
1-pkg black pepper
1-pkg curry powder
1-pkg basil
1-pkg oregano
1-bag (2lbs) onions
1-pkg fresh garlic/powder garlic
3-lemons
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
fresh strawberries
1-bag kiwi
1-3lb bag apples
1 dry pint blueberries
1-bag oats/oat bran
1-gallon milk
1-bag dry pet food
Salt or sugar (optional) omitted on purpose
fruit will sweeten cereal and lemon will flavor food
